Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid was born in Mogadishu, Somalia on July 25, 1955. Her parents are Marian and Mohamed Abdulmajid. Her father, Mohamed Abdulmajid, is a former Somali ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Iman has three siblings. Two brothers who are Elyas and Feisal and one sister named Nadia. Iman has brown hair and brown eyes. She attended high school in Egypt and later lived in Kenya, where she studied political science at Nairobi. Iman is Muslim, and fluent in Arabic, English, French, Italian, and Somali.
